About the Position
Genesis Centre is seeking an experienced Facility Operations Manager to join our Senior Management Team.
This role is responsible for overseeing facility operations, building systems, capital planning, budgets, safety and security, major projects, and operational partnerships. The successful candidate will provide both strategic leadership and hands-on support to help ensure the long-term success of one of Calgary’s most dynamic community facilities.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee facility operations, maintenance programs, and building systems including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing
• Lead the development and implementation of the facility’s 25-year capital lifecycle plan
• Manage operating budgets, capital forecasting, and facility improvement projects
• Recruit, lead, and mentor maintenance, custodial, and safety/security staff
• Collaborate with facility partners including the YMCA and Calgary Public Library
• Oversee CCTV systems, incident reporting, compliance documentation, and coordination with emergency services, police, and insurance representatives
• Support major capital improvements and future facility expansion initiatives
Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years of facility management experience in a leadership or senior supervisory role
• Experience managing operating and capital budgets, lifecycle planning, and construction projects
• Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance operations, and safety infrastructure
• Excellent leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Facility Management Administrator (FMA) designation or equivalent considered an asset
• Valid Standard First Aid/CPR certification
• Clean Police Information Check
• COR certification or audit experience considered an asset
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and provide hands-on operational support when required
Compensation & Benefits
• Salary range of $70,000–$85,000 annually, depending on experience and performance
