This is defined as a booking happening 1 or more times a week. Fall/Winter Season starts October 1st and runs until March 31st. Applications open April, allocation is confirmed in June. Outdoor fields applications open in January, allocation is confirmed in February. Below venues available.
Spring Summer Season starts April 1st and runs until September 30th. Applications open April, allocation is confirmed.
Year-round booking follows the same timeline as Fall Winter.

Q: When will the fields be available for public use?
A: We are currently determining when we may take bookings and will be sending out communications through our internal channels as soon as we have a more concrete answer in this regard. We need to ensure the fields are adequately prepared and safe for use prior to community utilization. We anticipate use by October 1st for our Artificial Fields and Spring 2022 for our Natural Turf, but we are still working to confirm that date. To be the first to know fill out our survey.
Q: What can the fields be used for?
A: While the Artificial fields are primarily designed for soccer (11v11, 7v7, and quarter fields) and lacrosse, a variety of other activities will be suitable for the fields. For guidance, please contact us and we will verify that your proposed activity is in line with our conditions of use. Our Natural Turf fields will be lines as needed on a weekly basis
Q: How can I book the fields/what is the booking process?
A: The fields will be booked in the same process as all of our other facility spaces. As a reminder, these include the booking form on our website, or through a direct email. Intake for bookings for each season will follow these dates:

Intermittent bookings can be booked outside of this schedule. Please note we will not take intermittent bookings before the season intake is complete, but we will review tournaments before and during the intake time.
Q: How does this field compare to others in the city?
A: Our Artificial field is similar to Shouldice Field, the difference is in the turf length. For reference: Shouldice’s turf length is 65ml, The University of Calgary’s Field Hockey turf is 40ml and ours is 50ml. We have outdoor lacrosse nets, 24ft x 8ft soccer nets and 18ft x 6ft soccer nets that should be available by spring. See last page for our lines on our Artificial Field.
Q: Is community use of the fields possible (i.e., drop-in based or free recreational use), or does one have to book to use them?
A: These fields represent the first of their kind to be community use fields (i.e., free use at select times) in Calgary. With that in mind, there will be three “models” for utilization of each field: regular on off or league bookings (subject to availability and season schedules), dedicated drop-in (fee-based, scheduled time throughout the week), as well as free community use at select times.
Q: What restrictions for use will be in place?

Q: Will these fields be subject to any COVID regulations and/or restrictions?
A: Regarding COVID restrictions, we work directly with Alberta Health Services personnel to determine healthy and safety measure to impose for the best interest of our whole community.
